I have a bag phone that used to be on 025 before it got disconnected... since 025 is on death row, and will be executed by next year, my question is, can Telecom reconnect it on 027?

No, it can not be connected, since they use different technologies.

If it's on Prepaid, and you want an 027 'Bag Phone' trade it in for a Nokia 2280, only $69, saving $60 of the RRP at your local Telecom Dealer Store.

Cheers

the bag phones were still fetching $400 secondhand about 24 months ago, but the imminent closure of 025, and telecom directives to not hook up 025 phones has made all current 025 totally obsolete, unless you are currently using a connected unit.

Its worthless, but a dealer may like it to display as a 'museum' piece.

** General note

Please dont give old cellphones to young kids (under fives) to play with, they are jam packed full of nasty chemicals and small parts, especially the batteries, but also the printed circuit boards. They are not safe to chew on, and youd be surprised by the number of parents who ask for old phones for their toddlers....

When the 025 network is completely devoid of Telecom customers the plan seems to be to set the system up in the Islands, not sure which ones but I'm sure someone out there knows. Then you could sell youeBag Phone up there for maybe, errrm let me think........Half a pig and a bag of Kava?

Considering the south island is the heart of this countrys IT industry maybe you are refering to the north island. Hole that it is.

What?!? I know a few people moving from the South Island to Wellington, actually. Wellington is becoming a good place for IT companies, probably thanks to Citylink/Cafenet, WIX, Trademe influences and other .Net and Java companies based here...

Christchurch is the small business capital of the world, with more businesses per capita than any other place on the planet.

Hmmm, I was going to run a short competition "Spot the Geekmobile" but I guess I can't now. Someone would claim the prize pretty much "now".

Actually, if you see it on the driveway, just look to the right side, through the window. Yes, that guy sitting there in front of a LCD monitor is me. Come down for a coffee if you want.
