A Mini Cooper car is up for grabs by Telecom Mobile customers who download a Glu Mobile game to their handset before 11 December this year.
It’s the biggest prize ever offered to Telecom Mobile gamers, and it’s a sign of just how mainstream mobile games are becoming, says Telecom’s category manager for games, Gary Tayler.
He says mobile games are popular with people of all ages, and overseas trends show that women over the age of 30 are among the most avid mobile gamers.
“People play mobile games on the bus, on the ferry or when they’re waiting for friends – they’re a great way to fill in time.
“And with the continual improvement in the size and quality of mobile screens, the mobile gaming experience keeps getting better.”
Some of Glu Mobile’s most popular titles for download on Telecom handsets include Ice Age 2: Arctic Slide, Driver Vegas, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
As well as the Mini Cooper car, the overall winner will receive a hands-free carkit, $100 mobile airtime credit, and a personalised plate for the car reading “GLUMOB”.
There are also monthly prizes which include Sanyo mobile phones, Sony digital cameras and PSPs, airtime credit, Westfield shopping vouchers, i-Pod Nanos, and Microsoft X Box 360s.
Around 10 new Glu Mobile games will be launched between now and Christmas.
