So I've been on the edge of my exchange for some time now with a sync rate of 6Mbps, so when I saw chorus techs swarming around my copper cabinet a few months ago I was quite excited, however the chorus cabinet updates and telecom wholesale shows no record of my cabinet due to be upgraded in the near future so I began to think it was maintenance or something.
HOWEVER
Today I saw a 'fibre solutions' van outside the cabinet and a guy in the telecom manhole, which makes me think maybe they are cabinetising my area? Still no mention of my cabinet on Chorus releases or wholesale maps, however I do notice they've added EUBA checking tools among other things.
So I guess my question is whether or not Chorus are keeping on going with cabinetisation beyond their forecasts for 2011 (I've heard alot of talk about how they will use these fibre fed cabinets for deployment of UFB?)

Exchange area is Mt Eden and cabinet is MOD/AP which isn't listed on the availability site, however the other cabinet on my street which has been converted to fibre (MOD/AK) is.

Rather than looking at the cabinet does your address show you being in a cabinetised area or exchange area?

What is the state of your home wiring?

In an exchange area, so according to the wholesale website I am not and not due to be in a cabinet serviced area, wiring is fine and speeds are to be expected with the distance/attenuation.

Yup I had pretty much resigned myself to poor broadband speeds until I saw that fibre van today, which one would assume would be an indication of a whisper cabinet site being prepared?

If you're not in an area listed as getting a cabinet on the map then you won't be getting one.

There have been changes to the rollout since it started with growth in some areas leading to changes, but most of these are reflected on the map.

Due to the architecture of the existing MPF's there are always going to be some issues with people "missing out" and unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do.

I have a semi related question, I currently live too far from my exchange to get adsl coverage, but according to the telecomwholesale maps, I'm due for a cabinet in Sept 2011.  However, looking through the cabinet update spreadsheets on the chorus website, my cabinet is not in the latest lists at all... It was listed if you go back to the May 2010 update http://www.chorus.co.nz/f866,44215/May_2010_Cabinetisation_Notice_and_Cabinetisation_Forecast.xls

My cabinet will be WHW/J

Which Site is more accurate?  Telecom wholesale, or Chorus cabinet updates?  Telecom wholesale recently changed the date from Oct 2011 to Sept 2011, so that's got to be promising :)
