So as you guys know we launched Voicemail Viewer in December last year.

To make it easier to turn on we've launched a self service option. To turn on the service text on to 178. To turn off the service text off to 178. Saves you ringing a csr to provision the service.

Further details here: http://telecom.co.nz/voicemailviewer

Cheers,
Amber Craig

Thanks Amber, I have been using it for some time and it is awesome.

Any plans of making Voicemail access zero rated or part of included minutes?

Sid

Or at least a fixed charge ($0.20 per access like Vodafone)?

Not that I get that many voicemails though...

Should be 20c per access call to voicemail no matter how long the call. More details on this page: http://www.telecom.co.nz/mobile/yourmobile/manageyourcalls/voicemail

The price of Voicemail is...
Voicemail feature | Cost
Voicemail monthly charge | Free
Usage charge | Only 20c per call, no matter how long it takes
Send a message to a Telecom mailbox | Free
Call back the caller | Charged as a normal call

Are you getting something different Mauricio?

Oh, ok. Not sure, I don't really check the invoice. I thought it was based on time. Much better then.

That's cool - if you notice something different let me know.

What would be useful: The ability to delete voicemail messages without having to ring voicemail up. Voicemail viewer will be ideal for this. There needs to be an option of either: "listen to voicemail message", or "delete voicemail message" on the received text.
More often than not I have spoken to the person directly and only have to dial in to delete the message.
And the number of times I've hung up at the end of the message, only to have to ring up again, go through all the hoops then delete the message...

Not trolling here, but dont 2degrees and vodafone already do this? I see that it sends the text notification from the caller's number, so that it matches up with your contacts to bring up an actual name, which is great, but is there something else different here that I hadnt noticed?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

There is a direct link that you can call to go directly to that actual voicemail, rather than having to dial through your voicemail main menu and go through all the earlier voicemails left prior to that voicemail.

E.g. If you have 4 new voicemails and want to only hear the 3rd voicemail (not 1 or 2) you click the link in the voicemail and listen to the message.

I meant click on the link in the text message (not voicemail). Sorry confusing myself!

What I'd love to see is an option to receive voicemails as MMS attachments. I don't know how practical it is to implement that though :)
