My girlfriend got herself a used Nokia 2280, and I was setting it up when I realized that the security code had been changed from its default setting (1234). Is there any way to reset it without going to a Telecom store?

Actually the default Nokia Secuirty Code is 12345, if this doesn't work, then off to the repair agent is goes

Or to save yourself the $75 fee..... google is your friend for resetting the security code on a Nokia 2280

If google cant help you, Telegistics only charge $25 for this unlocking service

Getting a professional to do it is the safest bet.
There are ways to do it yourself, but if you don't know what you are doing, you can stuff up the phone.

Changing the security code is a very simple process thats almost impossible to screw up! If you do screw it up you should never be allowed near a phone.

Yet sadly so many people still manage to do it.......

Sorry, I was reffering to the operator codes which work on Nokia CDMA handsets to circumvent the code/reprogram the phone.
