This is not real.

I guess someone has just learnt to use MSPaint.

Thanks for confirming... I've have also received an email from a Telecom spokesperson who confirmed it's not a real thing.

The email may be fake, and a cruel joke, seeing there are rumours of 20+ redundancies at Chorus and Telecom Wholesale today.

Fairly certain I could hear the collective facepalm from Boulcott Tower across the harbour.

Definately Fake, i got the real one yesterday.

I do believe that most people at Telecom Wholesale had to reaply for their jobs or a similar one as part of the seperation proceedings. Wholesale is probably the most affected department as they have parts going to Chorus2 and Telecom2 while everyone at Gen-i for example would know they are going to Telecom2.

Yeah sounds like it's Chorus de-merger related.

forgot to say that the real message is nothing to do with staffing, just information for customers around the work restictions due to the election and christmas. completely normal practice for the Telco industry.

...and the fact I understand majority of staff are being forced to take leave, So "don't call us we will call you"...may well apply in the coming months for TC customers.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

And here is the official word:

As we go through the demerger process, parts of Telecom Wholesale will move into New Chorus and others into the Wholesale Central Product Office - often people who miss out on their first choice role will have second or third options available. While we can't say there won't be any disestablished roles as a part of this change, New Chorus is moving from 275 employees to over 500 and we're looking to actively recruit internally first. Retaining institutional knowledge is critical to New Chorus' success - suggestions of wide spread job losses as a result of this change is absolutely wrong.

For the teams at Wholesale and Chorus, this kind of change can be disruptive and cause uncertainty - we’re doing our best to look after our people as we work towards demerger.
