Hi there

I am using the Nokia PC Suite Version that came with my 6265.

I am connected via Bluetooth Dongle and everything works fine BUT i am unable to retrieve/view my contact for some reason?? I can do everything else but get my contacts from my phone.

Does anyone know whats wrong?

Just trying to get things all sorted on my laptop.

Any error messages? You should be able to go to contacts and then download from phone. Works for me fine..

Does everything else work via bluetooth?

I advise to download latest version of PCSuite for 6265. I did, and i had several improvements, and may fix your issue at the same time.

Have you tried to sync with outlook, or outlook express instead, as this will save the contacts and enable you to copy them to another nokia device, so if you loose the phone you have a back up, where as the back up contacts feature in pc suite can only be used on your exact phone as far as I understand? At least that what Nokia told me when I was asking something along those lines.

The contacts you download off one phone will work on any other Nokia... I did just that when i got my 6265, saved the contacts from from my 6255 and then uploaded to the new phone.

Here is a step by step tutorial.....

Open PC Suite....

Click on Contacts and the following will appear.. click yes

You then see the following window....

No contacts? Oh bugger.... its not working for me either now... how embarassing. Thats very odd because it always used to work...

Whats the better program to Sync to? Outlook or outlook express? I have both.

Also does anyone know how to get rid of stupid MSN Messenger 4.7? It came with the laptop i just got and i cant remove if via the Add/Remove programs.

Only Outlook will work. Express does not support sync

I use express to back up my contacts only, and it works fine. Outlook will enable you to sync your calander etc.

Simple, choose Nokia PC Sync, then Select Outlook Express under the settings option (WAB = Windows Address Book). My one Syncs with a different part of OutLook Express rather than the contact list, on the bottom left of the screen. I'll post a screen dump when I can.

Oh yes thats the old contacts pane, was really handy. Windows Mail doesnt have that either. Contacts are now stored as indivdual files in the Conacts folder in 'User' which is on the desktop. Its a really good system.

This worked for me..... in the PC suite under Contacts, chose to create a new contact. When you have completed the details in the contact editor, hit save and the PC suite will automatically sync with your phone. Hey presto all my contacts appeared. Hope this works for you guys

[additional] : this was with my Nokia E61-1 and bluetooth Dongle
