My current plan for my mobile phone is with Telecom and for $10 I get 500 free texts after I send 50 (at 20c each). The plan expires after a month as with most mobile plans, losing all texts. I usually haven't even reached 50 texts. I DO need my phone for work (just texting).

I need a plan that DOESN'T expire after a month, simple as that. Anyone?

You're not going to get one. How else would they make money? I know many people which 2500 texts would last them an entire year so would only need to topup once a year.

You don't want or need a plan at 50 texts.

Just use normal prepay, eg: 2degree's text rate is $0.09 so 50 text's would cost you $4.50

+1 doyou need a plan? 2 degrees have texting at 9c per text. Vodafone simple/Smart? Prepay is 12c a text both of which would be cheaper for less then 50 texts

there isn't one.

but I notice you say you are on $10TXT, which means you must be on CDMA.  You will need to get a new phone before June as that network is closing down.
You ought to be more worried about your phone expiring than your plan :)

If you are still on the CDMA network, then Telecom is your only option.

Probably time to replace your phone and consider which carrier/plan gives you the best deal for your requirements.

you don't need to get a smartphone, just a non-CDMA phone.

And you have until June to switch over (although probably the best deals will be had at xmas so I would advise you to switch sooner rather than later)

if all you do is send <50txts per month, then 2Degrees is definitely the cheapest.

Although if you do other stuff then it might not be, depending on exactly what you do.  (e.g. if you make lots of calls to a telecom mobile or landline then you might be better off overall sticking with Telecom)
