Im a uni student and live in Wellington most of the year, this year i have come home for summer in the Waikato. My house doesn't have broadband so after having fibre in Wellington im struggling to limit my internet usage.
After a week at home I've already used a 2gb pack for $50, naturally i thought i'd go up to the next highest plan 4gb. When I went into my local telecom store today they said the 4gb plan would only be Available on account with a tstick. I use mobile broadband tethered through my phone to my laptop as then I can use the data on my phone too.
I don't get Vodafone reception here and Im nowhere near 2degrees mobile broadband zone. I use 2degrees in Wellington for the majority of the year because i live in their Wellington broadband Zone for most of the year.
I was told the only option I have is to keep buying packs at $50 each for 2gb which seems like not a great solution, i only need the connection until the beginning of February when I go back to Wellington.
Any other suggestions of what I could do are welcome, Im surprised telecom only have mobile broadband plans up to 4gb to be honest, it doesn't seem like much these days.
Sorry about spelling / grammatical errors, typed this all out on my phone.
Cheers
Alex
