Hey All
Looks like my company may be switching from VF to TNZ.  I'm not that stoked cause while they've got crappy motorola's that are falling apart I use my person iMate Jam.

So my question is to get seamless outlook integration do I need to go to the apache or is there another option?  The website is....inconclusive.   Would also need bluetooth (handsfree + ideally the sync) and preferably voice activation.

Any suggestions?

Your options are Treo650 or HTC Apache

If you want to keep it on Windows Mobile, then your option is the Apache...

Thanks guys. I feared as much. One last question - what is the story these days with roaming on TNZ. Last I was involved (back in BellSouth days) you had to get a loan piece of hardware if you were going to roam somewhere like Oz. What's the current status?

You can currently roam to Oz with your exisitng Telecom phone (voice/data). There is a roaming section on the Telecom web site.

OK, clarifying question in case the business won't spring for an Apache.

A bit of net investigation indicates that the nokia models will at least sync with outlook via PC Suite. Am I reading this correctly? So I wouldn't have to manage two lots of contacts and would be able to check my phone for calander appointments and tasks? Anyone know if PC Suite will sync with notes in Outlook?

no notes sorry.

calendar and contacts sync really well though.

make sure if you go this route, you get the latest pc sync off the net, and not necessarily use the packaged cd version.

Yes Nokia's will sync with Outlook, not sure about notes, but the calendar is fine.

You mentioned voice dialling. I asked the same question about a month back.

Stock standard the Apache nor the Treo650 supports it natively, you have to get thrid party software.

Cheers silent one.  I've got voice command software for my imate so I'm assuming I'll just be able to load that on an Apache if I get one.
