A suggestion for GZ blogs, can we allow html code in comments, perhaps from registered users only? One user taking 10 seconds to hyperlink a URL can save, say 2 - 5 seconds for hundreds of users.

Unless of course you are a registered user, in which case that's ok, no need for moderation (still, someone can register just for this).

Maybe if it's not too much hassle, a toggle to allow/disallow HTML in comments in the blog configuration would be the thing?

At the moment I dont moderate, as a courtesy to the 99.99999 per cent of comment leavers that are intelligent, genuine, and on topic.

The moment i start getting comment spam, or other abuse of the comment system, then moderation is going on.

I like the fact that someone can post a dissenting view, and see that their comment stands (and in fact is published immediately).

Borderline was the crumpet comment from Rozzo, informing me that he hoped i would die, due to my hazing of crumpet toast.

I would still prefer html ONLY for registered, logged in users.

I don't moderate either, but there's the e-mail verification, and I have the e-mail notification set, so I know of all comments posted. I might add a link to the e-mails if you want to click and go directly to the moderation page though for a quick moderation if needed.

I second this. There are many forum sites that let you post anonomously but cannot use html in your post unless you are logged. Maybe just load the RTE in the comment text area for registered users?

if the comment authors email address was displayed in the notification, it would make it a lot easier to decide there and then if the comment was worth keeping/publishing (and to contact them if required, as often, an off-blog conversation is warranted)

Done. Registered users can enter some HTML through the editor now (if the option to use the editor is set on the user's profile, and if the user is logged in).
