Could you clarify *what* the chat was actually for? I found it intrusive and also thought it was malware, but was curious to know the reasons why it was added.

We had a relatively good attendance to our IRC #geekzone channel years ago. The problem was managing it so I thought of having something similar - but the implementation wasn't great.

On the other hand I will use our "Beta Tester" feature in future instead of releasing things to everyone ;)
