Strangely enough Firefox thread CPU usage on that page (no GZ open) ~2-5%. Firefox thread CPU usage on GZ alone ~20-25%.

And the point is? 20 - 25% of CPU utilisation is low. I come from an environment where we tended to use 90% flat, 24/7 because it just means using all resources available.
That's why we have OSes with threading - everything gets a slice of time and will do its job.
I am not saying it's good to have a single page using more CPU than others - and I think the problem is the Telecom flash advert which is now out of the rotation. But I never complained about my computer doing its work. Of course a complete different thing would be a loop pegging to the CPU and causing the whole machine to stop. But I haven't seen this - and I test on many different machines around here.
