freitasm: @ragnor hosting Geekzone on Azure or AWS would cost at least 15 times more.

Just out of idle curiosity, which component is the expensive part? Is it traffic, compute, etc.?

Coincidentally there was a flurry of articles like the one below recently:

https://www.infoworld.com/article/3712861/why-companies-are-leaving-the-cloud.html

Mostly overstated because cloud continues to grow and if colocation is a solution then those guys probably did not need the cloud benefits in the first place. The interesting thing none mentioned is logically, colocation services can grow.

The number of companies with over-spec cloud deployments is mind-boggling. Can't throw a stick without hitting a project which spins up a hundreds or thousands of dollars (monthly) of compute resources, for a workload which would quite satisfactorily run on a Raspberry Pi.

Both. And storage. It is easy if you are a business that needs to scale horizontally and with each increase you're generating more revenue.

This maintenance window was approved so @cisconz will do this job for us.

For anyone interested, this is to replace the battery in a RAID controller.

Are pages now failing to load, links not working, etc. for other people or is it just the firewall at my work being problematic again? (Although I've never seen it act quite like this before). Seems to be fine on my phone over 4G.

I can give further details if needed but it might just be me.

Crisis averted: fully quit and reloaded the browser and it's behaving itself now. Must've just been a weird glitch.
