This has beend discussed lots before in the Geekzone forum. The flag is from the browser location, and Telecom uses an IP range on their CDMA network that some databases point as U.S.

We also have some DSL posters from New Zealand that show up as Australia.

Looks really good, even in Chrome. But not usable to me - there's no 'New forum posts' page that I can find, which I find is the only easy way to keep up with content quickly.

*** Please not that Phil and I agreed the first few updates will be on the live mobile site. If you see it broken, wait a few minutes and try again. This will happen until I create an internal dev site. ***

*** Please note the site can be accessed through either m.geekzone.co.nz and geekzone.mobi ***

*** DNS records for the geekzone.mobi domain are still being updated ***

A Last Forum Posts page will be coming. Also remember you can access the mobile version from desktop browsers but at certain stage it will be restricted to mobile browsers only.

TheBartender: fast, uses little data, and no adverts.

I will make it clear now to prevent misunderstandings. We will have advertising on the mobile site. It's likely to be a single banner. But since mobile advertising is something that hasn't been tested in New Zealand yet we won't be pushing this too hard - yet.

mike: Don't put a post reply link at the bottom. Put a quick reply box on the same page.
