Updated the original topic - forgot to mention we will not be running ads on Geekzone IPv6 for the first few months, so we can track speed, etc.

Is there a "list" of NZ ISPs who can currently deliver IPv6 either via native, or tunnel? My tunnel is via www.tunnelbroker.net which is obviously not optimal for routing... If there is a list/link, perhaps you could insert at the start of this thread.

N.B. Microsoft newest version of ISA Server - Forefront TMG 2010 - still doesnt do IPv6! I was shocked when i saw that. It just discards all IPv6 traffic. I had just assumed it would be included. Especially as some of the new Microsoft features - such as homegroups, branchcache etc - use IPv6 only. (Any comments on this, please use this thread: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=63550 )

I am using Gogo6 (http://www.gogo6.com) from a TelstraClear connection and it works perfectly.

After spending an hour messing around with Tunnel Broker and being completely unsuccessful, I've decided to stick with v4 for now :P

Regs, I believe that Xnet has native v6 but I don't know which other ISPs offer it.

Btw, if anyone wants a IPv6 Connection we do provide Naked DSL at Unleash with dedicated IPv6, plus all the hosting solutions here support IPv6.

Just sayin' - There's not many ISP's out there that support Native IPv6, you pretty much have to use a Tunnel Broker to have a address, which can be a bit of a pain to set up depending on what router you have got.

hmm. took me all of about 10 minutes on a windows 2003 server box - and that was including the RTFM due to the commmands generated using a tool that didnt exist on 2k3 server.  all it took was a few short netsh commands to add, and configure, once the tunnel was set up.

Let's keep this thread to discuss Geekzone IPv6 features/bugs/suggestions... I've opened a new discussion on how to get IPv6 for your desktop or laptop now.

IPv6 information. Basically we will run out of IPv4 addresses sometime in the near future.

Cool, the options presented in the other thread were pretty easy to follow to get IPv6 installed and running.

Off to http://www.ipv6porn.co.nz now :-)

Interesting, a trace from Windows shows:

Tracing route to www.geekzone.co.nz [2405:6000:f:100::1:2]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 2406:e000:310::1
2 13 ms 12 ms 26 ms 2406:e000:1:c7f3::1
3 20 ms 27 ms 11 ms snap-chc-state2-rtr01.snap.net.nz [2406:e000:0:600::1]
4 30 ms 28 ms 27 ms 2406:e000:1:200::2
5 26 ms 26 ms 28 ms snap-chc-state2-rtr01.snap.net.nz [2405:6000:9::1]
6 28 ms 27 ms 34 ms 2405:6000:1:1::2
7 33 ms 28 ms 40 ms 2405:6000:1:6::2

9 28 ms 28 ms 30 ms 2405:6000:f:100::1:2

Trace complete.

But a trace from my router shows:

Translating "www.geekzone.co.nz"...domain server (202.37.101.1) [OK]

Type escape sequence to abort.
Tracing the route to www.geekzone.co.nz (2405:6000:F:100::1:2)

Strange no response from 2405:6000:f:100::1:2, but speed from here is the same as IPv4 ;-)
