I noted that CSS2 min-width and min-height has not been included in MSIE7.
Doh! I'm talking to myself again.

OK. I spy with my little eye that you can not create a tab when activating a page from the links toolbar. You have to first open a tab and then click on the link you want.

Also the links icons are just MSIE7, you don't seem to be able to have custom icons in the links toolbar. Boring MSIE7.

I think I'm losing that loving feeling when it comes to IE7. Web development wise it is better than IE6, so a guess I shouldn't be to hard on it.

It's just that FF and Opera are so far ahead and this is suposed to be MSIEs big leap forward. It's more like a funny little hop.

Anybody found sites that fall apart on presentation using IE7 yet? I guess there is a few out there.

P.S. I still like the font style. :-)

This build is a beta preview so of course there are going to be bugs, firefox had the advantage of being built after ie6 and avoids all its mistakes. Now its microsofts turn

No go for me,, asks to "validate" windows, of course does not work at all either as my XP is running on NT4's Shell and explorer and is blindingly fast (bootup in less that 15 sec), no themes or other crud.

For a joke, download the whole 800k Internet Explorer 3.0 Click HERE for download, torn apart to work standalone ;-)

Take a walk down memory lane!

If anyone is game enough, IE can be removed from XP, it needs the MSHTML engines deleted, the explorer replaced with the one from 2000 (i went a step further with nt4)

DO THIS ON VMWARE or some other test platfrom.

I used to do that on windows 98. Massive improvement in speed.

hehe just downloaded IE3, what a hoot, Geekzone was terrible, Trademe was quite good - speaking of which....

IE7 Beta cant list a new auction on Trademe, but can add photos to an auction.

Opera9 Beta can list a new auction, but cant add photos to one.

Listing an auction is now a 2 step process for me...

I've been using it for a few weeks, at first I was not impressed but have since got use to it,
The only problem I have with it is the Tab feature, I find it really annoying

ooooOOOWWWhhhh MSIE 7.0 Beta 2 release 20-03-2006!!!!

SO I've downloaded it.

Version: 7.0.5335.5
Build: 65335

I see they've included/corrected the CSS min-width and min-height. It now works fine. (from the quick test I did)

I do like the rendering on the fonts in IE 7.0 ....very sexy. :-)

I didn't see a previous reply to my last post. I note I was corrected on just about everything.
Could I have missed all those points. I see that this build has icons changes and links opening in new tabs.
It stands to reason that the previous version would have too. Must have been a senior moment.

True. But it's still just a funny little hop, not the leap forward one would expect to enable IE to compete on a level playing field.

What happened to:

XHTML support.
SVG support.
CSS2 is only just getting there; you'd think they'd be looking at CSS3.

Even Mr. Gates admits failings in his speech at Mix '06 on Monday. Mix 06 speech

Looks like IE 7.0 is just the first of a few more upgrades.

But for me it was the CSS thing and most of the basics have been addressed ...wwaaahhhooo!!!!

You can almost develop web pages in IE now and not have to 'hack' them to maintain standards. Brilliant.

On the up side Mr. Gates is pledging to bolster web development, so IE may not be the show stopper in the future.

IE is still the most popular web browser out there and the leveler we all have to follow.
