I think the meeting went well, although with a small number of attendees. The discussion was good, and I found myself learning a few more bits... Really nice stuff!

We also found out that there's now a conference call facility (with a US-based number), so we could have voice, video, text all-in-one conference. I tested this with Sbiddle. It's not free, but with SkypeOut or other VoIP software it can be affordable.

Lots of fun, we will schedule another one sometime soon.

Id like for Tuesday night to become a regular event.
Last night we got talking about a bit of VoIP stuff, plus other general chit chat.

Having real time conversations for some topics is much better than posting and reply (especially if you are trying to learn something in minutes, not hours or days).

If anyone has a specific topic they would like to talk about, fire away. Perhaps if it involves a product or service or peice of software, we may be able to invite the appropriate people for a straight-from-the-horses mouth chat session?

Every Tuesday would be the ideal time for me as well. And I agree with Tony, if we have enough critical mass I am happy to have insiders to address the questions posted on-line and real-time.

Perhaps even with a webcam so we cam see them?

Thanks to everyone who showed up in the first two events, and I hope more people come to the next one.

Yes, this was the idea I had, but seeing the subject here is "weekly" and seeing that we could actually generate topics for every week, then why not? I am placing this as a recurring item in my Exchange calendar now: Every Tuesday, 8pm.
