After a quick chat tonight, Mauricio and I have decided to launch a "just for fun" chat session.

Grab your userplane id now - preferably the same login as your Geekzone username (although not required, it will help us be familiar with who you are, in relation to posts you have made.)

The first chat session is scheduled for Tuesday 2nd May 8pm (New Zealand time - NZST) (though not tomorrow).
The time and date conversion for many other cities/countries is listed here

Of course due to having a fairly international userbase, no one time is going to suit everyone, so if you have some other times in mind, post here. It would be nice to see the chat feature used, vs just having 'drive-by' chats (duck in, and find 1 or 2 users, then leaving again).

Chat topic? Nothing in particular, anything remotely Geeky, or just plain interesting. The introduction of the Offtopic forum has sparked a lot of conversation, and chat will add another dimension to it.

All are welcome to come and join in, bring your questions, answers, and anything else you want to say.

Userplane has a nice webcam feature too - so you can see some of us as well.

For people using Mac OS, here is an ICS file so you can add this to your calendar now.

No RSVP is needed, just show up. Registering before is good so you can update your profile, etc. Also good if you have a webcam...

Then try and be quiet when you come in so as not to disturb others. (tripping over chairs, and coughing as you find your way to the front row does not count....)

Any posse in effect will do, not necessarily the gangsta nor the rappa kind.
You must also have theme music if you have a posse (and you need a posse to be allowed fireworks)

These are known in the industry as dependancies.

Do you need a live performance of the music? (eg from a band)
or can we be wannabe gangsters and use a spraypainted cd player?

No live band necessary. If you spraypaint an appliance, it must be transonic brand (or equivilent).

P.S. I may be late or a no show for chat. Got a friend from out of town for dinner this evening...

Transcripts would be cool (*cough*irc*cough*)
