It will take us a lot to get back going, but I do hope this event will happen eventually.
In saying that it is VERY humbling to so many people from out of Christchurch in here and helping with the infrastructure and communications.
From people like police from NSW, US, to AK city council workers, telstra, telecom, voda willing to step in and lend a hand the best they know.
It's amazing to see the number of people from everywhere helping us get back on our feet.

FULL credit for them even being willing to come here.
My hats off to you all and for you geeks helping I hope I'll meet up with you when this meeting goes ahead. I definately owe you a beer, It's my shout. :)

Apologies if this has already been asked, but I could not scan through all pages in this thread

I have printed off my ticket and it says 5:30-11pm GMT+12

We are currently GMT+13 as it is daylight saving. Does that mean the tickets are wrong and it is 6:30-12pm as I dont want to turn an hour early

Cheers

The event starts 5:30pm... The page time is correct, but the ticket is probably being printed with some weird DST there.

I was looking forward to coming tonight, sadly my wife has injured her self and I need to be at home looking after things here.

I hope everyone has a good night and i hope to come along to the next one.

Hope someone can fill my space, with a +1 maybe? I have emailed the BDFL as well.

thanks Mauricio for organising another excellent night, also to Giapo for the great gelato ; was an excellent night and good to see the usual regular attenders and also meet some new people. The food was great and the bar tab lasted for ages - thanks also to Freeview, Auckland DataCentre and the other sponsors.

Thank you all who attended the Auckland event. It was great to see many of you there. The pizza was good, and drinks went a long way. Giapo did make it special by providing a great ice cream too!

I was looking forward to coming!

But we had to drive to Tauranga at short notice...and on the way back a strut broke on the car's right-rear shock absorber (at least that is what it felt and sounded like).....

By the time we got back it was after 6pm, pissing down, car busted....... :-(

Any chance you could give the prizes for the Chch event out to those that were attending? Just a suggestion.....

Your assuming the Ch event is still not going ahead.
I'm still holding out that it will. Might take a month or so though.
Meeting you all is the event for me, not the prizes.

I debated about giving out the prizes and decided not to. I will be holding those for Christchurch later. We will have something there, just have to decide when and where, when things settle down.
