I seem to remember maybe about 10 years ago in Geekzone, you could pay your subscription with bitcoins, correct me if I`m wrong freitasm.

Correct. Some where paid when Bitcoin was around $15 - $20. I've sold all when they reached around $850. If you want to pay in Bitcoins, sure I will still accept it - probably worth for Lifetime subscriptions.

freitasm: Do central governments need a solution?

Huh?

The birth of cryptocurrency is intertwined with / a development from crypto-anarchism.
So the answer is yes and no, but it all depends...

I too wondered why it was deleted.

I have noticed a distinct lack of crypto currency discussions in general, for a supposed geek website.

There's no crypto section here????

There is, but it's a hidden invite only forum.

That doesn't seem right, don't you think?

Please read the thread. Already explained. The "hidden" forum is hidden because it was created by a subscriber, not a public forum created by us. I have also explained the criteria for creating new forums.

Sorry, I should've elaborated or at least rephrased my response.

I'm new to the GZ forum but I've known of it for quite a while.

This is just my 5 cents;

I think GZ, a technology forum, should have a section dedicated to blockchain technologies regardless of whether or not a single user has their own private crypto section.

We only create a new sub-forum if we see a number of discussions that justify it. As it is we probably don't have one discussion on this topic per year.

You are more than welcome to create a thread of your own to do with crypto, probably in the Off-Topic section.

That makes sense. I wonder if people are less likely to post about crypto because there's no dedicated sub.

Cheers, might do so in the near future.
