Rikkitic:

Thank you for creating Geekzone. It has become a big part of my life.

Mine too. I think the last few years have been made a little easier to cope with as a result of my time spent here.

I have wandered in and out since 2008. Twenty years in this ever changing landscape is a remarkable milestone.

Wonderful Mauricio. GZ is a constant. Whether its the IT threads (which I imagine was the key thing back in the day), off topic threads, joke threads, or the dreaded political threads :-), its a constant. A source to seek or deliver. I know fellowship is probably an out of date word these days, but it is.

2013 for me

While I am a relative Geekzone newbie (2007) I was aware of @freitasm through telco-related connections.  In 1989 I moved from Christchurch to a software plant in Tredyffrin, PA to help (amongst other things) with a notion that value-added apps could be used on a proprietary mainframe to provide Telco network services (as opposed to business administration).  The result was a Telco voicemail system written in LINC that (if I recall correctly) was the basis of an early Telecom NZ service.

Congrats to Mauricio on your foresight and perseverance with Geekzone.  It truly is a value-added social media site for many.

I started working for this company in 1989 and visited Treddy a few times (as well as Mission Viejo), before getting a job transfer to New Zealand in 1997. I don't remember meeting @OldGeek but knew of him. It is all about how things happen.

Congrats on the milestone!

I thought I would see if I could resurrect this account, December 2004 and I still managed to remember the password!

Not the account I use these days but regardless of the account I'm mostly a lurker. Been visiting since I was 14 years old, things I read here almost certainly influenced the career I went in to.
