And your point is? Does it sound like you just have to report a post to get a Geekzone Blog? Hmmm. Have to change the wording...

I have just received an email to notify me that a new comment has been submitted to my blog. Unfortunately, when I click on the link to approve the comment, I get the following error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: '[string: "81)"]'

/blogmoderation.asp, line 75

Is this a known problem?

Works for me, it could be your e-mail client not parsing the URL correctly. Could you please copy and paste the URL from your browser when the error happens?

I am adding a safeguard now anyway.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Please try again. If the e-mail client is parsing the URL incorrectly, or non-numeric post id is sent then you should now be redirected to the Blog entry page, where you will see a list of posts with comments waiting for approval.

I think you're right. This is the URL that email is linking to (note the rogue bracket on the end):

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/blogmoderation.asp?postid=81)

I've tried manually removed the bracket at the end and re-entering the URL into my browser, and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Ok, just to keep the hype going on Geekzone blogs, I've posted a couple of posts on my thoughts about the blogs so far, you can see them on my blog http://www.geekzone.co.nz/DanDotNet if you like, not much there yet but I did post a few ideas of things I'd like to see. Here's a little more.

I think it would be very handy if there is a login button/link on each person's blog that would log them diretly to their profile and blog configuarton page, I was reading posts on my blog a couple of times and wanted to edit things, and to do this had to go to geekzone login go the the config page ...etc

Also - Mauricio, I added my Amazon id to the blog but I dont see the amazon ads there, any reason this is happening?

Yes, someone suggested the login in the blog pages, and that's a good idea. But currently if you log into Geekzone and check the "Automatic login" box then you will always see an "Add Entry" or "Edit Entry" link in each post.

About the Amazon: enter the Amazon code on the Blog Config page, then create a Amazon type List. In each item in the list you will enter an ASIN code (you find these in the product pages on Amazon).

As for some of the ideas in your post - I tried a couple of RTF editors but they create HTML with <p> when this is not ideal for posting. I will keep looking for these...

Cool thanks, I'll check that amazon stuff. And thanks for pointing out that Auto login thing, will make this a bit easier for now. I would still love to have a login box though :-)

This "Errors in page" in your browser indicates you have a problem with some javascript. Check the free type Lists...

Oh and btw, just for the record. The two blog panes display on top of each other on screen resolutions less than 1152x864. I have a 17" screen and am usually comfortable around a 1024x768 res, but now since I want to see the geekzone blog displayed properly I've motivated myself to get used to a higher res.
