Great is it possible to make the last post clickable, eg click on the freitasm and anchor straight to post. (I know I can click on the link for page 4 below).

The breadcrumbs section below the Compose reply box seems a little counter intuitive. Should this not be at top of page. (not a drama though).

Yeah, I just noticed that as well and was about to point it out.

If room could be found on each line for the Number of Replies it would also be helpful. It helps in assessing whether a thread is going anywhere or not.

Fixed. And added.

But we have this function. Every time you come back to Geekzone all new threads and discussions with new replies are marked with .

Each individual forum is marked with the same icon if there was any discussion within that has been updated.

This way you only have to follow the forums you want - better than visiting the frontpage only, and better than getting the single RSS feed.

And there's a "reset read flags" link in the menu after your profile links. This will reset all flags if you want.

I've just logged in for the first time in about a week and noticed the new header. However, my query concerns the 'NEW' icon. I'm running XP with IE6 and until now the 'NEW' icon would display when necessary. If I check on the laptop running XP and IE7, the 'NEW' icon displays in various places. I am accessing the page on the laptop after accessing it on the PC. I'm not aware of anything having changed on the PC since I last logged in. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The idea is that people would update their status more than search. There's a seach box in every page and a link in the menu to the search page. Not hard to find.

thats probably cause they cant find the search box

(if it aint in the immediately viewble page, it doesnt exist)

seriously though, i think a lot more people would probably search if the searchbox was always viewable. it needn't take up as much room as it currently does - perhaps lose the "web" option and have a search box that searches the geekzone pages.

BTW: i looked at the 'friends' status' page and i see 1 update today, 2 yesterday, 1 from 4 months ago and a couple from 2007.

I agree. It should be in the Main Menu Bar and ditch the "web" option, that's what we have Google.com for

This was a novelty for the first few days after it was introduced last year. But honestly, who can really be bothered to keep updating their status? (except for BDFL who does it religiously several times per day).

Nothing changed, Recently introduced filtering of content.There is definitely an issue with the way that you are filtering the content in the text entry. Linebreaks from safari are removed and when copy and paste from html causes greater issues.

EDIT: worked out that I need to put a double line break in to force it.

We now have the search in the menu bar, and it's no longer in the sidebars...

P.S. Just noticed an odd thing which has changed possibly as a result of the Search Box being moved:

The Second menu bar with Logout ... Contact buttons on it is now not visible unless you run the mouse across it.

This only happens in Firefox 3 (and possibly other versions) but Not in IE 7. There's a tricky one for you. Go figure

You probably have a cached CSS file. Either delete your cache, or force refresh with CTRL-F5.

I have just had a bit of an issue with logging in, and it may be related to the search being moved (if not, sorry!).

Each time I tried to login (from the sites homepage), the login appears to fail, and I get redirected to a search page. A copy of the link I am sent to is below:

It was only when I tried to post in the forums, and got the login screen with the cache clear andpassword removal options) that I was able to login.

I had tried clearing my cache and cookies too, and even restarting. I run Firefox 3.0.1 on Home Basic.

Hopefully a one-off, but enough for me to raise it here.

You might want to make it slightly narrower, by a tiny bit... seems like 1024px wide screens don't like it, pushing it down to the next line and screwing the whole menu.

And you know what happens when something's not right with 1024px wide screens...

How is that now? I've reduced the search box a bit - if still wraps around I will be reducing the space between menu options later...
