I have $13.59 left on my credit card until my term deposit matures this week, and I don't drink coffee either. I'm going to buy an annual subscription (don't like paying things weekly, monthly, etc), which I probably wouldn't have considered doing if it weren't for the free trial so yes you will gain another paying subscriber as a result, but just right at this moment it's not a priority for me for obvious reasons.

I'm sorry that my wedding plans and tight spending makes me pathetic.

It wasn't my intention to pressure anyone into subscribing when I ran the subscription trial - it was just a way to show how things work when you have a subscription and perhaps get a few new ones in the process.

More importantly it was a way for people to know that there's an option for those who want to either contribute to covering the site ongoing costs, or to give people knowledge to answer those who complain now and then about we having advertising on the site.

You folks already help us anyway by just visiting the site - thanks!

This is interesting because just last night I was having a Twitter discussion (if this is even possible with those damn 140 characters limit), where someone was saying that it's easy: just install ad blockers.

I replied then that "free" services still have costs - how do you pay hosting, bandwidth, software if no revenue is generated?

He never replied to this specific question but went on and on about how sites should not ads, that ads are intrusive, etc, etc.

He is a student of design (of all things) and lives in a dream world. He sees the world as somewhere where people don't have to pay for things (except for his Macbook perhaps) so advertising is a terrible invention of humankind.

Seriously annoyed because in five years time when he decides it's time to actually do something for a living he will learn.

Anyway, enough ranting about this...

Done - just paid my annual sub. (I spent sooo much on the weekend that another $60 isn't going to be noticed!! I'm now on a severe budget.) The paypal process was painless enough :)

kind regards Andrew TD

Meh.. Only $7.00 a month. That's pretty good and as i use the site everyday, it's good value for the added convenience of no ads.

Sussing my sub now :-)

Edit: Done. It's funny, I always thought I was a subscriber, maybe it was to get the newsletter or something? Not sure but no worries. The ads were never that much of a hassle anyway but having is none is good. I didnt realise until yesterday that the free subs were being given out but my own fault for not looking properly in the first place!

I don't know this guy, nate...

Seriously folks this is not mandatory, neither imposed. Some opinions in this page are personal...

I seem to have ruffled some feathers and stood on some toes, not my intention, just trying to help freitasm cover the costs of running this site.

In light of this, I've removed my posts.
