TheBartender: As for ads, I can understand that, but could they be done in a way so to keep the data down, and loading speed up, as currently its brilliant...txt ads only?

I don't think mobile ads are heavy - no way to play flash things or moving bits on a small screen. So I'd expect pages to be not much bigger than now.

somehwat OT, but i see that the NZ herald site is much more mobile data friendly now - it used to server up pages with over 200KB content and now it seems to be much smaller - maybe 30-40KB

Hi.. great mobile site. however you need to add a "last page" link, because some topics end up 10-12 pages long, and lots of navigation/clicking to get to..

Yes, after using the site myself for a while - this is on my list already ;) as is making the paging a bit bigger and appearing at the top of the thread as well as the bottom.

We are still testing and this is not an official launch yet, but here's a breakdown of browsers visiting our mobile site in the last couple of days...

Note that "Internet Explorer/Windows" includes Windows desktop and Windows Mobile, except where noted - as in "C820" "HTC Snap", "HTC P3450". Not all OEM update thei default settings on their devices before shipping.

You probably will notice that Geekzone Mobile is now only visible from mobile devices. There's an option to see the full Geekzone from there if you need - for things like PMs, blog, etc.

The full Geekzone will modified soon to automatically redirect to Geekzone Mobile if you browse from a mobile device.

And all fall in places...
