Imagine if every single one of the thousands of threads on this board was entitled "Help me" or some derivative of that. It would make it very very very hard to figure out what you wanted to read.

Perhaps without knowing what a thread is actually about, some people wouldnt even bother to read your thread, or even choose not to respond to it.

Your title should be clear and concise, and indeed, the title for this thread should be something along the lines of"

"Guidelines for naming/titling new discussion threads on Geekzone.co.nz" - its clear, and unambiguous. People who dont care or dont know about the topic can easily steer clear, and people who have a passion for your topic (or even a passing interest) may be more likely to stop by and help out.

Help us to help you, and put some thought into your thread titles.

I pass over so many of these daily, I fail to keep a daily count.

Too many times it's been kids asking for codes to brick their 2280 (cheap, ugly, low-end mobile phone) after they coated it in glitter, twink (TM) and nail varnish then locked it when the keys started sticking.
