Hello folks

I'm slowly going through moving Geekzone from our existing servers to new servers (Windows Server 2008 SP2 to Windows Server 2012).

As of today live.geekzone.co.nz and jobs.geekzone.co.nz are both being served from a new server. I decided to move those two because we use different technologies (ASP and .Net MVC respectively) so we could know for sure if the stuff we need can/will work.

I will be moving other domains during this week and next. If you notice anything strange please let me know.

Good luck, are they new VMs or physical servers?

During migration tests we found some problems with upgrading Windows Server 2008 SP2 to Windows Serve 2012, so we have two new VMs and migrating the applications between the old two ones and the new two ones. When this is done we will then migrate the physical server.

We have moved a few other services since then. I am preparing a final move for this Friday 8th February. We will have approximately 90 minutes downtime some time during the day while we swap database servers and perform some final tests and tweaks.

Just a heads up this is still going ahead and we will have the site up and down for a couple of hours while moving IP addresses, database and other stuff around.

Would any of these moves currently be affecting live.geekzone.co.nz?

As of some time yesterday, I'm not seeing any of the red new post icons on live.geekzone.co.nz

Happening across multiple devices / OSs.

Yes, it could be. Most subdomains are moved to the new server, except for the www. When they are all in the same server then I will check this kind of problems.

Actually, it was related to Lazy Loading some images. I have removed that option and they are now showing up.

We are now running all domains and resources from new Windows Server 2012 VMs. If you find any problems please let me know and we will investigate - not expecting many at this point though.

The plan was for a 90 minutes downtime and managed to complete it in 80 minutes. I can stop now for a coffee then.

No, it is not. I'm replacing licenses due to server name changes.

The post icons (one attached to this post) don't seem to be working.

Edit: Maybe just the "ROFL" one? The purple confused face works.

Edit 2: And the clock's wrong; this was posted at approx 9:30 pm.

Edit 3! I'm on a roll! There's no CSS on user_profile.asp either.
