everyone has spelling habits - things they always spell wrong or mix up. Typically things like Teh or THe etc.

Me I get the word account wrong and any word that has that sound in it such as discount.   The C and the O gets mixed up making an interesting turettish word.

Seems geek zone recognises the C word inside of other words - I got a post banned for spelling discountdomains as dis0(untdomains.  I wonder, are there any other words that have that sound in it that might get banned?

What mis-spellings do others have?

I don't mind having the censor on here. it aids polite discussion.

It does always crack me up when I see swearing censors on ultraviolent multiplayer video games. Funny to think that people are OK with brutally murdering police officers in game, but heaven forbid you should say a naughty word!

Google is my friend when it comes to finding the correct spelling for all the things.

Sh1t I didn't realize that mods have the ability to get past the swear filter.

(Yes, I know they're simply different spellings)

You folks realise this is a pretty low quality filter, right? The idea here is to let people know that may be they should tone down and as noted before to encourage polite discussions.

If anyone uses a bad word out of context, or repeatedly use a bad word and continue even after warnings then it's a ban. And I am well aware that people who get banned here go complain in other forums.

Too bad they can't understand their rights here end where someone else's rights start. As simple as that.

Our mods do a great job of keeping this, in the words of our TonyHughes, "a family show".

There's lots of things we can do that you normal muggles can't (post scripts for example).  It's just we have enough self control not to :)

Or perhaps better put as "Too bad they can't understand their responsibilities here."

I'm not complaining, honest

Was amused at howit found the word inside other words and was really interested to know what mis-spellings poeple have - mine seems to be the most amusing so far :)

Not that it's a swear word, but I sometimes type 'goof' instead of 'good'. It makes for some pretty interesting email replies. In my defence, the 'd' key and 'f' key are next to each other on the QWERTY keyboard.

I didn't think you were complaining. I just posted a reply that other people will read in the future and understand why things are like this.

Figured that - just wanted to make sure wasnt trading on toes. Its funny what sets people off. Was watching my kids soccer game the other day and the other side were continually offside - caused havoc and a goal against our team. I called (once) offside ref) when he didn't pull up yet another pass to an offside player and got a talking too and an email sent to all the team parents about side line behaviour. Its not like I called him an accountant :)   (  <-- spelling checker corrected it for me - thank goodness hehehehhe    )

Re rights - Someone once told me, A right is the opportunity to exercise a responsibility.   That always stuck, especially in our modern society where rights seem to mean a chance to selfishly do what you want and to heaven with everyone else.
