Hi

Can I please have mod access for the htpc subforum. I have been an htpc user for over 10 years and I am member of team media portal and I also moderate their forums.

Thanks

I would expect you to be at least a trusted user, and/or subscriber to be a moderator?

For what purpose? The forums are very actively moderated already?

IMHO they are not. Forum stickies are a mess. Never mind then.

Moderators have to be responsible. It's more fun to be able to troll occasionally ;)

Moderators have access to all forums, plus access to users' private information to perform their role. Additions to the mod team are usually something that takes time and we engage with those who we know personally.

If you have any comments about stick posts, or suggestions to move those around you can contact myself or anyone in the team via PM.

ok thanks. i wasn't sure if the forum software supported that or not.

As a side question is it possible to always have edit access to a particular post(s) with out being a mod?

I think getting that "Trusted" tag might relax the restrictions a bit... I'm hoping to find out one day ;-)

I don't think so, I could always edit my own post for a few minutes, no change I noticed after becoming trusted.

Trusted should be able to edit posts forever, except if the thread is locked (automatic lock or manual lock, it doesn't matter).

As usual, to get trusted status you have to be known to one of the moderators in real life.

I've always wondered who it was that got me Trusted status...

You met one of the mods? You came to one of the pizza evenings? You paid the annual bribe?
