Yes, sometimes if a reply is hidden it may not update the page sequence. We can manually update that and other emails should be ok... Thanks.

Interesting. Sounds like a design flaw? Guess since you write/run your own forum sofware you'll find all sorts of little things no-one else has.

btw the thingy you dropped off seems cool, will test it this weekend then review/return thanks :)

On the topic of email links, I should've reported this earlier but didn't realise that it was only affecting Safari until now (and therefore thought it was so obvious that it wasn't worth reporting):

The redirect from gkz1.com to geekzone.co.nz causes the anchor to disappear, therefore email links always go to the top of the page now instead of the new post. This affects both Safari 6.1 and 7, but not Firefox 24.1.1.

freitasm: Not a design flaw, but a bug. There is a certain condition when this happens - I just never went looking for it.

You could add a "hander" page and build the correct url server side... eg:

/from-email.asp?replyid=1234  > server magic > redirect > /forums.asp?forumid=x&topicid=y&page_no=z etc
