I'm thinking of a switch from Telecom to Vodafone. I feel Telecom's technology is just not up to it - much less choice in phones - hardly any bluetooth capability - one camera phone! With Vodafone dropping PXT to same price as TXT - I think the picture messaging will take off. One question though - I have my email account with Xtra - can I check it through Vodafone via a smartphone?

Cheers

Peter.

Sorry, you can't. Xtra blocks th pop3 ports to any access from outside its own network. This pretty much locks down users to its e-mail services. You can always use webmail though.

That's absolutely crazy! That means that you can't access Xtra email from a cybercafe, work, a friend's computer, a non-027 mobile device, etc, etc, etc.

This is clearly a scam to get people locked in to their products and services.

You can access if you use the Xtra webmail... But that's all. You can't use a service like Mail2PDA.

Thank you all for your replies - the mail forwarding sounds like the go. I wonder if you can view it through WAP as I do now on my telecom phone - probably not eh?
