Just a suggestion to consider whether any improvements can be made to the Geekzone search, I find I always end up doing a Google search instead (site:geekzone.co.nz) then use the search tools to filter out old results.

For example, if I search 'best ISP' in the Geekzone Google custom search some of the top posts are from 2008 and probably not very relevant anymore.

I think for forums like this date of posts is probably one of the most important factors when searching. Would be awesome if there was a 'sort by most recent' or even if the search results showed the date of the post on them would make a huge difference :)

We tried many times to give Google hints on this, using structured data, etc but that's how their search works...

In theory there should be a 'sort by' button that can be shown to the right of the '3000 results' line, or do you mean even using that doesn't bring any joy?

Or by using the bias by attribute.. looks like you could probably even set it up to bias posts with the most votes if you had that as structured data..

Sorry if you've explored these options already :)
