The domain geekzone.mobi is registered for us already. We will be working on a design change this month and then a mobile version afterwards.

We'll see. The design will change a bit, but more importantly it will move the site from the current tables structure to a pure CSS layout. From there it's easier to move anywhere really.

Definitely.  I don't envy you going from tables to divs/css though.  I completely broke my site when trying to muck about with positioning.  Looked fine in IE7 and FF, but totally wrong in IE6.

I believe we are looking at supporting viewing Geekzone in Safari Beta for Windows only. The site will be inaccessible with FF (any version), and IE6, with IE7 having limited support (due to not being a popular browser).

** Note... the above is actually completely untrue.

BTW: Bring on the .mobi version!

You musn't have been doing it right!!!

My best tip for css designers is use _ and #!!!

width:70px; /* Sets all browsers value */
#width:72px; /* Sets value for IE7 and IE6 */
_width:66px; /* Sets value for IE6 */

That would results in IE6 with width of 66, IE7 with width of 72 and everything else with 70!!

Back to the topic however, I say bring on the forums for mobile! I keep clicking the bloody ads while trying to navigate to posts. Although thats goood for your revenue it annoys the hell out of me!

When designing style sheets for print or handheld best leave width to auto/freely. however not all if any mobile devices truly use "handheld" profile.
