from today the placement of advertising on Geekzone seems a little bit off.
I am getting this on almost all forum pages

Wonder if it's release related to Firefox - I'm not getting this in Chrome. Have you tried a different browser?

I tested this on Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox. Not seeing this. So it is probably a specific combination.

freitasm: What browser/OS combination please?

Firefox 28.0 on openSUSE 13.1
Chromium displays fine.

This afternoon this problem wasn't present.
I haven't applied any updates in over a week that might have caused this.

edit: clearing history, cache etc . .  problem still present

Also, which ad blocker are you using?

This is my test Firefox (on Windows):

I suggest you use Chromium for a while. I'm investigating this one...

seems like it might be related to adblock plus somehow.
If I disable adblock universally then the problem isn't present.
Re-enable adblock with an exception for Geekzone then the issue is present again (sporadically)

is adblock being confused by the presence of this advertising?

If I enable adblock fully the above advertising is still shown in geekzone (I guess because it is being fed by geekzone itself.)

With an exception added for geekzone then I sometimes get one of the above types of ads at the top followed by a misplaced google ad

what confuses me though is it only started happening tonight without me updating anything at all.
Have there been changes on geekzone today?
