I just went to post a link using the <url=http://site>caption</url> notation (obviously using square brackets) but there seems to be some sort of URL autodetection happening now. If I paste a URL, then it automatically gets put into an <a> element.

The result is something like [url=http://www.geekzone.co.nz]this/url] where the two tag syntaxes conflict with each other. Is there some way for manual BBcodes to override the automatic URL detection?

Because people couldnt handle using the URL tags we are all now forced to use the rich text editor which detects web address.

I say this is a tech forum and people can learn the dam tags!!

Correct. The editor will parse links. Use BBC one only if editor is not enabled.
