Ah... Just installed Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 on my desktop at Geekzone ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H home.

It's nice to see how fast the computer is, when you have a nice and fresh OS install.

Are you seriously telling me you were still on Windows 2k? :-) I even convined Oliver to upgrade to XP last year...

I've even found WinXP still runs fast a year after installation - the only trouble I've had is with the bloody WPA update (pain, pain!), otherwise reasonably impressed. We've come a long way since Windows 95 :-)

I must admit I've been very impressed by Office 2k3 at work, and have seriously considered buying it (as OpenOffice is good, but not nearing as polished as MS Office).

Err. Yes. I've upgraded my desktop last year because of my IDE dying, so I got the new machine (at that time top of the line) from parts on usual suppliers (you know, Tech Pac, BDT, etc). I had my Windows 2000 Pro NFR for a while, and was hesitant to shell out for the Windows XP, even though I knew it was good (I use it on my Dell laptop).

Now I decided to get Windows XP and Office 2003, and I'm quite happy with its performance. I knwe about how stable it was because of laptop.

Had a couple of problems with SP2 RC1, so I'm back to using SP1 for now.
