I repeatedly come up against two annoying behaviors on geekzone.

1) Login isn't common between mobile and desktop versions of the site. If I login to the mobile page, and then click the desktop version link, I have to login again.
2) If I set my phone to request the desktop site, I still get redirected to the mobile site.

It would be nicer if these quirks didn't exist.

For 2, I find you'll get directed to the mobile site again if the last time you viewed geekzone you were on a mobile page. Once I've selected the view full site option, I close the browser. Next time I click a link from an email or go to the site manually it loads as the full site. Until of course I go back to the mobile site.

Is your browser clearing cookies etc when you leave it (Dolphin does this if you choose to. Others too, possibly)? If so you'll lose your setting to view the full site, be detected as a mobile browser and send you to the mobile site again.

Both of these issues are only generally an issue for me when I clear the browser data. So I'll go weeks without striking them.

To be honest, if 1 was fixed, 2 wouldn't be that big of an issue.

The typical sequence of events and the moment is:
go to live.geekzone.co.nz but get redirected to the mobile login page.
Login then realize its the mobile site, so go to the full site.
Login again.
go to live.geekzone.co.nz
