even though the "remember me" box is ticked.
I manage my cookies with Ccleaner. Geekzone is on the cookie whitelist. Is there another cookie p0laced by this forum that is responsible for retaining the login info? "Mediatracker", for example?

Oh God, what've I done to it now??

What browser do you use?

If you use FF, then you can install an add-on called Cookiesafe (or similar), which lets you control your cookies.

From what i can see, there are 6 or so cookies associated with GZ, of those only two are required.

C:\Users\Ross\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\low\ross@www.geekzone.co[2].txt

That cookie contains my username and password, if you have checked remember me, and then click log out, your username and password are nolonger stored in the text file.

C:\Users\Ross\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\low\ross@geekzone.co[2].txt

I am not too sure what this one contains :D

I hope this helps :)

I do use Firefox, it is set to allow cookies from sites (forever) and I clean the unwanted cookies periodically using CCleaner.
I haven't ever clicked the "log out" button, yet still, it logs me out. This only happens with this site, and occasionally (randomly) with the Avast forum.
Tks for the reply.

One cookie is for your username and password for automatic login. The other cookie is the session information. That's what's needed...

OK, all cookies from geekzone.co.nz are set to stay. Always have been.
Yet the problem persists.

Do you ever sign in on other computers as well? As I find when I do this, I lose my saved info on one, even though I have remember me ticked

No, I have only ever signed in from this one (home desktop). Interestingly, this page opened and I was logged on. That's a first, for a while.Either from a notification link (as in this case) or from bookmarks/favourites.
