We have just registered an exclusive geekzonemail.com domain to provide our users with free hosted e-mail powered by Windows Live.

When you sign up for Geekzonemail you get a full web-based e-mail service powered by Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail and includes includes a @geekzonemail.com e-mail address of your choice, which is also a Windows Live ID that allows you to log in to services such as Windows Live, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Spaces and more.

All accounts come with 2 GB (gigabytes) of free storage, antivirus scanning for attachments, contacts management, and calendar.

You can access your Geekzonemail through the webmail interface, mobile browser or using the free Microsoft Outlook Connector to access the service directly from within Microsoft Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook 2007.

The geekzonemail.com ID can be used to login into Windows Live for Windows Mobile on your Pocket PC or Smartphone, providing you with free push e-mail to your smart device, plus access to Live Messenger. You can also use the Windows Live Installer to get Windows Live Mail, a desktop client for your Windows PC.

Nice, I just registered my GZ username @geekzonemail.com

They advocate the use of forwarding other email accounts into the system, but dont provide the ability to forward mail out again :-(

One can never have too many email addresses though :-)

The Windows Live Mail service (not the partners one such as this) has just bumped to 5GB, Forward Email option and a few other things. So expect this to be upgraded sometime...

But email addresses are never too much...

I'm both email hoarder as well as email address hoader... Anyway, i grabbed my Geekzonemail.com id :-D

I do wonder though... will there be an integration of both Geekzone.co.nz ID to Geekzonemail.com ID? like a single-sign-on?

I got mine! Laughing

Just to confirm... this is just WL email, not a full WL ID?

You can use the @geekzonemail.com address as your Live ID, including for things like creating your Spaces, signing on Windows Live Messenger and everything else.

Note that you are not limited to web access only. You can access the geekzonemail service from within Outlook using the free Outlook Connector. I have just updated the post to reflect this.

Just curious if there is a similar add-on for Outlook express, or Windows Mail?

I have updated the description, including where the geekzonemail.com ID can be used - including mobile devices (note the free push e-mail feature!)

Hmmm if only there is a way to migrate/consolidate from existing @hotmail.com account(s) into single domain email account then that'll be great...
