Good Morning

I use geekzone on 3 separate computers (1 PC, 1 laptop, both mine and a work laptop).

when i use the reset forum flags button on my laptop for instance it doesnt seem to carry over to any of the other devices. Ive been away for 2 weeks with work and reset forum flags on my PC before i left. I used the forums last weekend on my laptop and also resef forum flags on that when i finished. Now that im back home on the PC ive just noticed i have post showing as unread doing back to 2 weeks ago when i was last on here and hit reset flags

is there any way to make it so the reset flags button works over multiple devices? i know its possible on other forums just wondering if it can be done on geekzone.

It would be a big help as im away with work often and am switching devices a bit.

Thanks

Jason

I will have a look because the flag should be consistent across devices.

The interesting one I am getting is no email notifications - not getting put into Spam either. I can't quite figure out what is going on :)

Can we please, please, PLEASE have an overhaul of the reset read flags functionality?  I've asked like 100 times for this now...

I think should be consistent. Should really look at that bit of code again...

It's random as hell on my devices. I use the live page 99% of the time.

Sometimes it's consistent, usually not.
I have devices suddenly reset the flags seemingly at random. This doesn't populate to other devices.
I sometimes load the live page to find only one "popular" thread showing as new, and it's usually not the top one.

This is the only forum I use that doesn't track reading. All the others track to at least to the thread level most even to the post level.

I realise this is bespoke software and a hobby, and I genuinely appreciate your efforts. I do wonder sometimes though whether you'd be better off just using standard software like PHPBB and being done with it.

i also find it annoying if it have the home page open and havent read any of the new posts and i get called away for something and come back a while later and click new posts, it shows nothing, its reset the posts for me for some reason.

Read flags have always been a bit weird on GZ, they've never worked well between computers for me. Right now it's marking my own posts as new and unread.

This could all be fixed by letting a user control (reset) read flags themselves via a button at the top of each GZ page and stop GZ deciding when to reset them itself.

Alas I have requested this too many times with no action, so I don't see my request ever taking shape :-(
