Tena koutou katoa,

How do I paste code into my blog?  When I try, the very friendly editor attempts to render my tags and I end up with nothing very useful.

So, I tried pasting my code between two TEXTAREA tags.  No joy.  Neither will PRE and LITERAL.

Is there some other special tag that will let me do it?

The best option is to not let the editor "cleanup" the code. You can do this in two ways:

1.Disable the editor on your profile
2.Disable Javascript on your browser

I personally use IE all the time, and have Firefox with Javascript disabled so that I can enter some code or embed tags (such as YouTube videos) when needed.

When using the textarea without the editor you will have to enter any HTML code you want to use.

Cheers!  That worked.
