I've seen this several times on GZ this evening but it means nowt to me other than "broken"!

What does it actually mean?

One of my errors suggested it was something to do with cloudflare or something and the sites quite slow also.

Ild suspect your issue is, VF dont peer at APE for cloudflare yet and so your still on SYD.

Here are all the httpd error codes starting with 5*

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes#5xx_Server_Error

505 is a strange one to get (HTTP version not supported). 504 seems reasonable in this case (Gateway timeout)

As above. Cloudflare has started operating a POP in New Zealand. Some ISPs are not peering yet so traffic still goes to Sydney. Sydney is under maintenance.

Wait and things will be back to normal.
