I just want to pass on my thanks and appreciation for the great job done by Mauricio and the other moderators, with regard to this brilliant website.

I haven't been the most prolific or controversal contributor, but I have really enjoyed being involved in the forums and writing my blog.

I have found the level of technical expertise among contributors to be of an extremely high level and wide ranging. I  appreciate the use of proper language  and grammar, seems to be a unique phenomena these days.

The level of control and monitoring by the moderators maintains the very high standard of the Geekzone forums.

Keep up the great work folks!!

Hay no wurrees their wOb Laughing

I have also enjoyed my time this year, my first year here, and also being the n00b moderator has been great.

I am looking forward to another good year, as I am sure all of the GZ team are BDFL's moderators and plebs alike!

Thank you folks! It's been a great year, and I (still) don't regret leaving my full time job to do Geekzone. It's lots of fun to be around all these geeks here.

All the best in 2008!

Thanks Wob, and thanks to all the other members as well - its your contributions that help make Geekzone what it is.

And don't panic Wob, heaps of controversy out there - if you struggle to make any of your own, we won't shed a tear!!

As for the txt spk kiddies, I know I tend to pick on one now and again, and come down harsh, but I feel Geekzone is better for it. Its a great place for people of all ages to come along and have intelligent conversations, usually with a bit of an IT bend to it.

I reckon that if GZ let all the kiddies and meat-heads run wild (instead of giving us moderator status Tongue out), then we would see a lot less people on the forums.

Those of you who are prolific readers/writers here will know how many industry professionals hang around here (some silently, others not so silently *cough*JohnR*cough* Laughing), and those people help raise our profile, and their contributions really help out the people who come, very day, seeking advice.

Lets euthanase my train-wreck of a Christmas speech by finishing up with:

THANKS EVERYONE, especially Mauricio, who makes it all happen.

There's always someone, somewhere on GZ who knows something that is interesting and they are willing to share and improve the knowledge of others in the various specialist areas.

A special thanks to all who helped improve my knowledge this year, and I trust I've managed to do the same for others as well.

And thanks once again to Mauricio and all the mods who preserve sanity when it's most needed Embarassed

Have a safe and relaxing Christmas everybody and enjoy this special time of year in the company of friends and family.

See you all in 08 Cool

Cheers,
Grant.

Have to agree with all the posts above. My thanks to the mods and especially all of the helpful geeks out there who make GZ what it is.

Just checked and its coming up to 3 years since I joined - seems like it was only yesterday that I was wondering aimlessly through the great wide web.

Just a comment on the txt speak, any chance of a spell checker for us challenged individuals? (I didnt pass school cert - thats what it was called in my day).

Happy Christmas and a geekie new year.
