I still have to get some time organised to code a page showing your +1 given and received...

Would you folks also would like to know which sub-forums you visit more?

Sure

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

You asked, so I will answer.  I would rather dev time be spent on some more useful usability items :-)

Which I have thought about and still haven't found a good solution. These items are just queries on database, the other one item is a complex one. Really.

I tried to reply to this yesterday but something happened and it looks like my answer was lost. I said something like:

I may be misunderstanding the question but a whole "page" for +1s given and received seems unnecessary. We already have the +1s received in the details under your avatar on the left of every post you make, so perhaps you could just add +1s given here as well, or add a couple of lines to the information displayed in your profile?

The sub-forum thing sounds useful though.

The +1 would be a list with top 10 post/replies you received +1, top 10 people who gave +1 to you and top people you gave +1.

The sub-forum thing also can be exploited in another way - for example the front page cam have discussions, trending discussions and a new area for "current topics in the forums you visit most".

Thanks for the extra detail.

I would like that for the benefit of knowing who has I consider more authoritative so I'm more likely to check their opinion. It might also provide a rough measure of personal compatibility. In either case, I'm more likely to send a friend request.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

You did ask for feedback and I simply stated I'd rather something more useful be worked on.  The +1 system in my view is a nice to have and a bit of a popularity contest (again in my view) and I don't see it adding a lot to GZ.  Really.

I often receive +1's in different threads going back days or weeks. It drives me slightly crazy trying to figure out where they came from and I certainly wouldn't mind a simple way of doing that. Sure, it's a popularity contest but some of us are just born insecure.

Those of us with only one friend have lost interest in popularity contests!

I think the +1 thing can add some value. If I ask a question and get an answer from someone with a large number of +1s, particularly in relation to total number of posts, I'll probably consider that more "authoritative" than an answer from somebody with none.

I use +1 a bit like a Like on FB or Star on Twitter - but less of them.

To me I'm showing the poster I appreciate their particular contribution in that post, that it is particularly significant or of value. That way others can also see if someone's suggestions are helpful or otherwise.

I've never bothered about if they are on my friend list or not

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.
