This might sound a little dumb, but here I go:

How come everyone else seems to know how to upload pictures to geekzone (through geekz1.com)?

The server geekz1.com is not accessible to the public and used to host all of the Geekzone images. Subscribers can upload images and create their own private forum - but images are uploaded to geekzone.co.nz in a private area.

In general users will upload their pictures to any other hosting service - Flickr, Google Pages, etc and insert them using the rich text editor.

If you see some user images there is either because the user is a subscriber or because someone posted a large picture and I've downloaded and resized it.

Although I haven't used HP's Snapfish photo service, I'm guessing that you might need to put it into a public gallery and copy the image location from there.

I might have to send it to a friend, and myself at the same time, then put it somewhere else...  I wonder - can I get a photo from my facebook page?  Might have to go to flickr...

I give in, I've just put a pic on Flickr, it's public, I just get the 'funny icon' where the picture should go on my blog.  What is it with me???

Snapfish does not support hot linking or sharing hosted images.

Flickr is good, it was better, but Yahoo brought them, and put them in a freezer to keep them fresh.
I recall in the fine print, that if you hotlink to Flickr then are required to make that image link to the flickr image page.

To link to you flickr images. In flickr, view the image you want to use, there is a link to see different sizes,
that will show you the different sizes you have available. Select the size you want and the direct pictute link will be displayed on screen.
Or is that for downloading. meh

www.photobucket.com is much nicer, they let you hotlink and they don't require you to link to other places.
It's easy to sign up but keep that password hiden from those cats, they would just want to blog about fish and napping.

Ah, you're all so good to me and them puddycats.

Actually, I showed my older son the photo, he right-clicked on it and brought up the properties.  It took him two seconds, even showed me how to check that it was all good by bringing up another web page and pasting it there...

Anyway, my first attempt by myself failed, it seems like I copied the address when it should have been the Location...  But with a little bit of help from Fluffy I put another photo on 'his' blog entry.

See, I'm learning!!!

I actually just tried putting a snapfish picture onto a blank page, it worked there...  But it is my photo, of course.

Lets see if I can get something on here?  (only small, of course...)

There.  Taken from the front page of an album on snapfish.
