If you didn't have an avatar then you now have your user name's initial by default. It makes it easier to follow discussions...

You should put the scrabble points on those Avatar tiles. Then I might learn the points per letter in scrabble (always comes up at quiz!)

Going to take a little while to get used to the change, certainly bugged me at first!

 

 

 

but default avatars to your first letter is pretty common out there, be a nice change from the bland identical picture for everyone!

Yes, I had this idea but first implementation it is... Once it is randomised then just deleting the avatar will create a new, different one.
