At this juncture I'd like to suggest that the FUG be expanded to explicitly ban behavior of the type demonstrated by ramboky in the Krapi cable thread.

I didn't see the thread or comments in the first, but given it appears to have been deleted (presumably because of a FUG breach), the FUG seems to be doing it's job.

I don't think the FUG needs changing really. It's self-policing to some degree.. If you piss of the people who help, they stop helping.

Peer pressure will ensure that Ramboky probably thinks twice again about the way he interacts with people. Whilst I disagree with his approach, I also disagree with him being named specifically (Even though he invited it) in TWO threads since, basically tearing strips off him. It's almost as bad as what he did.

Sure his behaviour caused a flow on effect that will affect others, and that IS unfortunate, but it's pretty important that everyone takes a deep breath, put down their pitchforks and don't soley blame this one character for Johns decision. I think EVERYONE should take a break from forums from time to time. It helps provide perspective and helps people understand

this isn't the real world. It's likely this decision was multi factorial, and this incident was the straw that broken the camels back.

He isn't helping his cause though by saying he was being chased by a "thinly disguised internet lynch mob".

Personally I won't be paying any heed to anything he says again, whether it's related to his cable connection or not.

We've had this for some time where some members think that the individuals here who try and help on behalf of their employers should be personally responsible for all their employers failings. We are all here as individuals with very rare exceptions. I find it really sad that people can't let go of their gripes with company xyz and feel they have to take it out on individuals.

While I get having company xyz next to your name makes you a target, I just find the lack of tolerance for the individuals pretty tragic. Pulling someone up on their own merits is reasonable, making them responsible for their companies failings sucks.

I agree with him on this. It needs to stop right now. He made a mistake, but the way he has been singled out over it, is pretty disgraceful as well.

how about also banning the users that thought it was ok to break the FUG's themselves to abuse him?

Why wasn't it moderated sooner if it was such a large issue?

I feel the same way. Frankly, the OP of this thread would do well to have a look in the mirror. This is just a thinly disguised carry-on of the pile on against raborky.

The passionate Ramborky should have handled the issue more tactfully. Yes, this OP, also passionate about how John was treated could have acted more diplomatically.

As MF says on the other thread, don't start here, is probably appropriate. otherwise the issue will grow to multiple posters arguing.
