I just received a notification for a new post on a thread I am subscribed to but when I checked it I could only see older posts. This has happened in the past and I found it confusing until I realised the missing post must have been deleted by a moderator. I still find it confusing, though. It would be helpful if postings that have been deleted could be replaced  with a post of the same number stating so. Is something like this possible or would it create all kinds of technical issues?

No way to replace a post with the same number. We can edit the text out but the post is still going to appear as posted from the original user - which is exactly what we don't want.
