Hi

Interesting new message is coming up. I have google Chrome installed with no addons as its a work laptop and so do not have admin rights, but from today everytime I want to reply I do not have access to the quick reply box as it gives the error about an adblocker... This laptop has no such thing installed.. What is going on?

EDIT: Same issue on IE11 too, so either there is a corporate thing happening at a server level or something on the forums...

Your work network probably blocks ads.

Strange thing is that the whole page is full of ads not being blocked; as said this has happened only in the past few days... I'll take a screenshot and post it up.

You can clearly see the adblock message in light blue at the bottom, but the whole page is still full of ads...

I have noticed the same message the last few days; this is on a work PC, IE 11, and yes the IT department has ad blocking in place, but until recently I've been able to use the quick reply function.

You know, I had not noticed that the adverts had gone... Shows how much their presence bothers me...

What precisely about ad blockers interferes with the rich text editor? If I recall correctly I have been using it since I opened my account here without issue.

I am getting the same message, and have also started getting an orange banner "Hey, we've noticed you have ad blocker enabled...." on the homepage.

However, I have my adblocker disabled for the geekzone.co.nz domain, and have just double checked that this is still the case.

Unless Ghostery (which, because of its anti-tracking features, I'm not about to disable without a *very* good reason) is causing this, I'm not sure why the site suddenly thinks I am blocking ads?

I am running a Firefox plus Ghostery - by default it blocks all ads (none are showing) and the site correctly identifies this situation. So you might have ad blocker disabled for Geekzone but Ghostery is blocking anyway.

Hmm, what about the rich text editor would an adblocker block? Surely it is delivered via the one of the geekzone domains and uses Javascript or another scripting language.
